Love Film & Netflix Reviews

Okay, so if you haven't worked it out by now, I am currently between jobs. ACTIVELY searching. However, I definitely like to spend my free time, watching TV series and films. I am not particularly fussy over what I watch, however I do hate normal daytime tele such as Jeremy Kyle. Honestly, Jeremy winds me up more than the guests on the show. I hate how smug he is. Anyway, getting to the point. I decided to get a free subscription to Netflix. Why not? It's free.

At first, I was amazed, so much tele, only 24 hours in the day. I threw myself in to Melissa and Joey (great watch btw!) and quickly managed to get through the first series. The good thing about Netflix is it shows you how far you have got in to the episode, 15 out of 20 minutes etc. Therefore I could carry on where I left off, if I was rudely interrupted by phone interviews etc. So my intial thought was Wow, this is great and I do not have that guilt of streaming it illegally. However I visited my boyfriend in Portsmouth who is a MASSIVE Will Ferrell fan, aren't we all? So he looked to see what was on Netflix, not much. So he looked for the Fast & Furious films, nope, you guessed it. NOTHING.

I told him we would find something else (i.e. Let me choose something). So I searched for the first series of Desperate Housewives.. THERE WAS NO DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. Damn it. Now I am starting to get stressed. Right, next. Sex & The City? Now this is just a basic human right. However a basic human right that Netflix ignored.

As if by magic, the LoveFilm people rang me. I made their job easy, Do you have Desperate Housewives on LoveFilm? Yes? Sold.

So LoveFilm also offered me a free month's subscription. So I thought I would have a gander, well what else do I have to do? Nothing. So first stop. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVESS HELLLO!.. Wait.. What.. Wait for activation? WTH? Did a little Google search, usually takes an hour. So I had a bath, waited around, an hour had passed. Nothing. I ended up waiting two days and then calling them and they activated it straight away. Still, they were on the back foot now.

LoveFilm is definitely not as user friendly as Netflix, not everything is in Genre's. somethings you have to go digging for a bit to find. Overall, both sites have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to ease of access. I like that Netflix has a suggestion tool on what you have previously watched, the height of laziness.. Only problem is I showed my little sister ONE episode of Dora the Explorer and now its full of Children's programmes. Won't be making that mistake again.

However, once you get used to it your off and away. It does have a much wider range of films, and quite a few newer films.

The boring stuff, but highly important. Both had a really good streaming quality in general. I have found when the internet is weaker, it goes blurry, still enough to see what's going on but still blurry. To be honest though, I don't mind that. I would rather that to it buffering all the time.

Who wins overall I hear you ask?

Welllllll..... The winner is... Drum roll please... LoveFilm, at the end of the day, ease of use only takes up a tiny portion of the time. The range to watch is ultimately the most important. Also a final note do not get me wrong, I love to watch American programmes as soon as they come out. However Netflix and LoveFilm really are offering a good deal with their instant streaming service. £4.99 a month for both really is a good price for an endless amount of films. Perfect for that quiet night in with yourself and Mr Ben & Mr Jerry.

And Life Begins...

Well, you know when you are learning to drive, and everyone tells you 'You only really start learning when you have passed'. Well I have come to realise that really is like everything in life. I have just completed three years of a Law degree, and I got a 2:1. So surely, I should be this fountain of legal knowledge, right? WRONG. Definitely only remember the interesting bits. I certainly would not be any position to give legal advice.

I was SO happy the day I found out I got a 2:1, that was it. The world was my oyster. Mine for the taking. Well, yeah.. So... Still waiting for that magical 100k a year job to come along. (Just kidding, I do not really have delusions that ridiculous). However all my good mates are struggling in all varies of degree qualification.

My best friend did English and Drama, I think a very sturdy degree, with some great transferable skills. However like me, the rejection letters keep hitting the door mat, on a regular basis. So I want to know, how to get yourself out there BECAUSE I know I can do the job. How do I make them know this? I do not want to be rejected for being 'too qualified' or not even get any feedback at all. Universities tell you that they give you all the tools to succeed in life, and get a job.

I do not want a job. I want a career. Something that I can whole-heartedly throw myself in to. Jump in with two feet and don't look back. So girls and boys, what can make me stand out from the crowd? How do I get them to notice me?

Do Nice Guys Finish Last?

Well, I have been with my boyfriend for YEARS, since secondary school when we were just tiny little teens (I am only 21, and I would do anything to be a teenager again) but moving on. I know him very well and he knows me better. We don't have a rose tinted relationship, we know the worst and best things about each other. However, the worst thing in the world has happened to me.

I have fallen in love with a REALLY nice guy. Yep. Sounds awful. Don't get me wrong, he stands his ground like the next kid and he can be stubborn, get annoyed like the rest of the world. Mostly, he is just really nice. However that leads to everyone thinking I am the prize b*tch.

Now I am of the belief that the nice guy finishes last, maybe that is a personality flaw on my part. However I think sometimes you just have to fight your way to the top. Now I am not saying that I would trample all over people to get to the top and not care who I hurt, because I do care.

There are times when you have to put yourself first. I don't think I do it enough. I always try to look out for my girls before myself. However up til now, that's been okay. In an academic environment, everyone can do well if they put their mind to it. Now.. Well.. It's all going to change. Not everyone can get that dream job, or promotion. Just one.

So my moto is 'if you always do what you've always done you will always get what you've always got'. In the case of my boyfriend, if he always helps people to be better and sidelines himself. Is he ever going to reach his goals? Or will people recognise that he is actually this top guy and promote him on that.

I guess I will just have to wait and see how it pans out for the both of us..

What attitude gets you further...

I cannot live without

Okay, this post may make me sound like the most materialist person alive, however there are some things I really cannot live without. OBVIOUSLY beside my family, friends & boyfriend. Ultimately they are the most important.

I do not think I will be alone on this one, my iPhone. I love it. It makes me wonder how I used to survive without it. Everything I need on a daily basis is on there; Facebook, Twitter, Emails, Banking, Music, Smurfs game (Okay.. I don't neeeeeed it but I like it)!

Ohhh talking about phones, am I the only person who has an unhealthy obsession with Instagram. I instagram EVERYTHING; Food, special days, presents, toilets?, animals, eggcups. Okay as I am going through my Instagram album. I am starting to realise I have taken photos of some very strange things. I won't stop though, I love it. It makes everyone a professional vintage photographer don't you think?

The next one is easily one of my 'cannot live without', 'bring to a desert island', 'if you could only use one skincare item'. Johnson's Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipe. I love them I have used them for yeeeears. Much to the annoyance of my Mum and boyfriend I leave them everywhere though. I have used this since, well I cannot remember when but they got me through the spotty years, with only a few blemishes to my name. I am one of those people who never gets spots, I am lucky and I take it for granted massively. However, when I do get them. BOY. Do I get them. They are massive. Rank. Do not leave my face for weeks and just to be convenient they will always be in a place you cannot cover well. P.s. a little secret about me, I have never squeezed a spot. Pinky promise! Anyway enough about spots and yuck. The Johnson's Cleansing wipes are one of my favourite things and are usually on offer if you look in the right places.

Finally, Candles. I love them. All of them. Any of them. Okay actually thats a lie. I love candles that smell amazing and over powering. Where as my boyfriend likes 'clean linen'... 'fluffy towels'.
Nope. Not me. I am not particularly fussy, I have a wide range of cost, Ikea candles are always a good buy especially at University. I find I worked better when I had a few candles lit. The Apple one just reminds me of Freshers... Oh Freshers..

Moving on before I start to cry about how I am no longer a student. I always have a Yankee Candle large jar on the go, I think they are a good investment, they last a good amount of time and they have such a wide range of smells.

I have recently purchase a Neom candle, my best friend bought one for our housemate, and it was delivered so beautifully and you could smell how gorgeous it was. It was just a really good investment. London Make Up Girl did an amazing blog post about her investment of a Neom Candle Here. I do try and save that one for my relaxing baths, along with my Jo Malone candle, If you would like to see a blog post on a relaxing Neom bath, check out Zoella's blog Here.

So there are my cannot live without's. What are yours? If you have any candle recommendations I would LOVE to know :) Never say no to a beaut smell!

Hello World

Well, I have been considering doing this for a while. All my life I have kept diaries (strange I know?) but my Mum did the same. However my best friend introduced me to the blogging world nearly a year ago now & finally I have built up the courage to do my own.

I am 21 year old Law graduate, I graduated this year with a 2:1. However I still have no idea what I want to do as a career. However I know what I want from life, that is just to be happy, hopefully with a family. However at the moment I am enjoying being young and in love.

So here it goes, my first blog post.
